I am on day 14 of my 15 days before I have to do something about my Speeding Ticket. I have been researching a deferral and came across someone who said that they were able to call a clerk and go through the deferral process over the phone. Could someone here tell me if this is true? It looks as though my only other option is to deliver a letter by hand because I've put this off for so long. I started college a couple days after I received my ticket and I have been trying to adjust to it and in the confusion the ticket was placed on the backburner...
Is it possible to get a deferral over the phone if this is my first and currently only offense?
If true, could someone help me find the correct phone number? I am having issues.
If false, could someone explain the deferral by letter approach, or link to a site the will? Does it have to arrive by the required day or just post marked? Do I include the check with the letter or later? On the Defendant's Statement what exactly do I write in order to properly ask for a deferral?
Thanks.
