My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: California

I just received notice of my unemployment appeal hearing. I was laid off last March due to economic reasons-- I was working at a luxury hotel, and was assured the termination was not due to poor performance. My benefits ran out in early September. The reason I was not eligible for renewal is because I did not have enough earnings (I suspect this is due to the fact that, for the last 4 months of my employment, I was reduced to half-time from full-time).

I have a few questions:
-What to expect overall?
-What kind of evidence should I bring? I'm planning to bring copies of my termination letter, paystubs from when I was employed both full-time and half-time, and copy of my original appeal request letter-- am I missing anything?
-Is my former employer obligated/likely to attend the hearing too? If so, who is this likely to be (HR, my immediate supervisor, or ??). I worked at a large hotel about 30 miles from the hearing location, any thoughts on the likelihood of them even showing up?

I'm a bit nervous about this, so input from anyone who has been through this would be very much appreciated.
I'm confused. It sounds like you are appealing the determination stating that you are not eligible for an extension because you don't have the requisite wages? Or the employer is appealing your eligibility for benefits based on the reason for your termination (if they were going to do that, they would have done it last March). Relative to an earnings requirement, either you meet it or you don't, whatever the law is in California and appealing when the state complied with the law is a wasted effort.
