Default Reporting Wages For an Unemployment Application

Last week, I was fired from my job as a server in Texas. I know it's almost pointless to file for unemployment, but I'm doing it anyway. I was in the process of applying on the Texas Workforce Commission's website, but don't know what amount to enter for my income. I entered my $2.13 hourly wage because I was under the impression that tip income was not to be included. After clicking "Next", I was informed that reported income has to be at least minimum wage. A side-note said to be sure to include all income, including tips. This seems kind of arbitrary to me. How is this amount verified? If I claim to have made $800 per week, is that the amount upon which my benefit is based? Any information as to how unemployment benefits are assessed for tipped servers would be appreciated.

It's verified by the earnings (which include tips) that the employer reports on a quarterly basis to the TWC. Hopefully, you reported all your tips when you were employed as required by law.
