I have a child support order in the state of Indiana.
Since then I have moved to Texas and my ex along with my daughter are now in North Carolina.
My daughter turns 18 in December and graduates high school in June 2010. She is planning to attend a community college there in town and continue to live with her mother. My ex states to my daughter that she will have to live with her for the 4 years of college so she can continue to squeeze me for child support.
My questions are:
Since my divorce decree doesn't mention when support ends when does it? And am I still covered under Indiana law? I understand that I could pay until the age of 21. Also, college hasn't been address by her mother since there is no communication anymore and the decree states that if an agreement is not met by both parties that mediation will happen. Since neither of us are in Indiana now what happens? Can I be forced to continue child support until 21 AND have to pay college expenses as well?
Please help
