    Default Oklahoma Overtime Laws

Are there any laws against making employees work over 40 hours a week by coming in on the weekends but then making them take off early several days during the week to make your hours equal 40?

They previously paid overtime pay for working 7 days a week but have now started making us take off to equal out the hours. When I started I was never told that overtime would be required or even an option.

It appears Ok defaults to federal OT laws. As such, there is nothing requiring your employer to pay OT for anything other than time over 40 hours in a workweek. There is no law that would restrict an employer from acting such as you have explained.

there is no requirement to inform you of this.

There is, in fact, no law in any state that would prohibit this. It is, under Federal law and the law of all 50 states, entirely the opt of the employer whether to allow employees to work overtime or not, and it is, under Federal law and the law of all 50 states, the right of the employer to adjust schedules to prevent overtime from being worked.

The above presumes that no legally binding contract or CBA expressly says otherwise.
