Default Employer Withholds Payment, Now Pressing Charges

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: FLORIDA

I worked for 6 weeks as a nanny. During this time I was not paid (except for gas money) due to various excuses. 3 weeks after being let go, I finally get a check, albeit from an account with NO funds. Some more back and forth, and I finally do get my money.

Now, a week after getting my money, I get a message that they're going to press charges, for things such as:
    * bringing a knife to the house (which I brought to work on art projects with the kids)
    * my kid biting theirs (they said I could bring my 1 1/2 yr old, and I did for one day in the first week when this happened)

These people are heads of companies and I'm dirt poor in debt. I just wanted my money, and now this. I don't know what to do...

    Thanks!

If you have received formal notice of a lawsuit (it is not clear whether you have or not) you don't need a message board, you need an attorney. Now. Being sued is not a DIY project.

If you have just heard a rumor through the grapevine, it still wouldn't hurt to consult with one. Many give free or low cost consultations.

No, one has not been issued.
