My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: Pennsylvania
I'm currently sixteen years old and will be seventeen as of February. I am eligible for my license in January. I have a job, & I do well in school. I consider myself a responsible individual.
I currently pay for a lot of my necessities to lessen the burden on my mother. My mother works constantly due to my father's tendency to NOT pay child support. (We've been to court time and time again, but there has been absolutely no progress, before court is suggested for another solution.) I hate seeing her stressed, and we're currently trying to find a new place. I'm trying to help my mom find a place, and it's quickly becoming blatantly obvious that a three-bedroom house/apartment for rent in our area, that allows pets, is clearly unrealistic. (I have a younger brother, with social anxiety issues, making his pets his best friends.)
However, we've found quite a few places with 2 bedrooms that would be in our price range, but being that I'm becoming an independent young woman, I would rather not be forced to share a room with my younger brother. I feel like if I were to move out, & go to cyber school when I am not working (hours would be more flexible) I'd be able to support myself in my own one room apartment.
As far as I'm concerned I could certainly handle it. I love my mother to death, and I still wanna stay in touch. My main concern is hurting her.
Anyhow, would this be possible?
