My question involves criminal law for the state of: California
My 17-year-old daughter came after curfew last night, drunk. Apparently her 19-year-old female friend had smuggled alcohol into the movie theater. Also present was a 27-year-old male friend who, ironically, is about to take his bar examination.
She confessed at the occasion that the 27-year-old want-to-be-lawyer provided alcohol to both of them (and many other under-aged persons) at his birthday party last week end. Obviously she is grounded, but I am afraid at her age this won't be sufficient. I am particularly concerned because there was driving involved in both cases - by the older one who "can take it" presumably.
What can I do legally against these individuals, and what would the legal ramifications be.
How soon do I have to act - is there a statute of limitations?
