My question involves a roommate in the State of: California
I was involved in a 6 month lease from June 1 to Dec 1 with a roommate (both names on lease). I decided to move back to KY Aug 1, but told my roommate that I would still pay my half of the rent for the months I would not occupy the apartment provided he did not find a replacement. This was an informal oral agreement. It came to my knowledge that he found a replacement and did not inform me. I have already pre-paid my half of the rent for the remainder of the lease while someone else occupies my room. What can I do?
