I'm a USC who's been living in France for over 8 years. I got married to a Frenchman 6 years ago here in France. We've got job offers in the US with our current company.
I would like to know:
If we apply for the green card in Paris, will we have to wait here to receive the green card before moving to the States (even though I noticed that we must have a US address where the green card will be sent). Or can we just apply for it here, then move to the US right after that and wait for the delivery of the green card over there?
My husband will have a work visa (I think it's the N-1 or something like that). I've just heard that we will have better luck applying for the green card abroad than waiting to get to the US. Can anyone help?
Also, for the proof of assets or income, can we simply use the equity we have in our home (which is around $400K), or will we need to show a work contract from the US?
Thanks a lot!
