My question involves criminal law for the state of: Minnesota
Alright, so my friend was caught shoplifting 70 dollars of merchandise at a local walmart while I was with him. On our way out we were stopped and brought back in by there Loss prevention.
After sitting there getting my friends information, they asked me if I had an ID and I did not. He said ok and asked for my address and name and date of birth, thats it.
When the police arrived, I was standing there and she just went right to him. The police officer talked to him and I asked if I could leave and they let me. They asked for his statement and then sent him on his way with a citation stating that he needs to go to court.
So, should I expect something in the mail and can they still charge me and if so, with what?
