    Default Writ Against Landlord

I practice in Michigan, not New Hampshire, so I'm not familiar with their District Court practice. Practically speaking, it probably doesn't matter.

    Default filing an appearance

    Aaron,

Tomorrow is my day in court and I don't even know if my landlord is going to show up. Isn't there a penalty for not filing an appearance in any court action???

    Thanks again Lynn

    Default Failure to Appear

If no written answer is filed, and the other party fails to appear in court, provided the judge finds that service was properly effected a judge will often default the non-appearing party.
