    Question Selling Out of State

My question involves a consumer law issue in the States of: MS and IL.

I live in MS and will be ownerfinancing a vehicle to a family member who lives in IL. I have clear title to the vehicle but am unclear as to which documents I should have in place prior to the sale. I am aware of several documents which needs to be prepared prior but would like assistance from anyone as to which documents specifically and from what state. I would think a bill of sale with as-is language, sales agreement with owner financing language, odometer statement, a possible ucc etc. But, would appreciate some guidance prior to the transaction.

I realize this is risky and should ensure that I am protected as much as possible but want to be thorough relative to the transaction. The value is around 6200.00.

    Thank you.
    Jeb
