If you entered legally (which it looks like you did) and overstayed, and your marriage is legitimate (not just for immigration) then the overstay should not be a problem with adjusting your status based on the marriage to a US citizen.
However, what you have to consider is what you did while you overstayed. Did you work illegally? Did you obtain/use and fraudulent documents? Did you pay taxes? Did you commit any crimes? These things could cause problems with the process.
