Here's my original question when I resided in Florida in August, 2008: My question involves an arrest warrant from the State of: Ohio
I am on misdemeanor probation in the state of Ohio and currently residing in Florida. I owe fines and haven't paid and failed to appear before my P.O. I now have a couple of warrants issued for "failure to appear" and "failure to pay fiines". Someone told me if I pay the fines, the warrant will be dismissed and I won't go to jail. Is this true?
I'm back in Ohio and no, the P.O. isn't looking for me as someone had replied. I often check the status on the court website and nothing has changed for more than a year. I only owe $400.
I had another warrant in another jurisdiction here for a "failure to appear to pay fines" in which was recently resolved... because I had a "run in" with the police (thanks to my ex-bf) and he gave me a citation and told me to come back to court. Well I went in to pay the total fine amount of $175 and the clerk told me I didn't need to see the judge because I paid off all the fines!
So maybe I'll get lucky with this other court if I turn myself in AND show up with $400?? Because I know all they want is their money!! I did enough time in jail and have no desire to return.![]()
