My question involves an eviction in the state of: North Carolina

We were served a "Notice of Eviction" on 9/17/09 which gave us until 9/22/09 to make good on our commitment.

The paper work ("Complaint in Summary Ejectment") that was attached stated the amount that needed to be paid was 938.00. (rent, plus fees).

Unfortunately, we had fallen behind on our rent several months ago and have been struggling to make it ever since. My husband has been in constant contact with the rental company trying to keep the lines of communication open. He explained to them that I had just gotten a promotion and my pay cycle was changing from weekly to every other week and asked if there was any way to prevent the eviction from happening. No go. We begged, borrowed and was able to scrape together 950.00. Paid the rental company and thought all was good. WRONG! They came and locked us out on 9/22! My husband immediately called (SEVERAL TIMES) and was able to arrange it that we were able to get back in until Friday.

Now they're telling us we have to have 1200.00 + by Friday or they will lock us out Agian!

My question is this...can they do that? We paid the amount that was listed (yes I know we owe more, and planned on giving them more this Friday anyway~PayDay). Can they legally change the locks since we fulfilled the "Writ" amount?

Thanks for Any and All responses!
