Default Deputy Sheriff Wants to Discuss My Case

a Civil Summons with message to contact him. If I do not contact, what happens? and does the 20 or 30 day time to respond, as seems to be the case for most summons, even begin? since I have not received the summons?

I have no way of determining if the notice you received constituted service, or if the deputy is trying to contact you to arrange service. If you've been served, the clock is running.

well, the small hanging note had a box checked that said "to discuss Civil Summons" . Other than that little note; that is all I have gotten. So, I am guessing that means I have not been "served". Right? Then the clock is not ticking?
