My question involves a roommate in the State of: Illinois

My girlfriend broke up with me, and we still live together. She wants me to leave, but I am on the lease, and have nowhere else to go.

Because I am in school, we had a verbal agreement that I would not pay rent, in exchange for groceries and other odds and ends (there are witnesses who know this was the agreement). I helped pay for a few things in the apartment that she wants to keep, and I want some of that money back from her. She says that since I didn't pay rent, she owes me nothing. Can I take her to small claims?

Also, does she have any right to kick me out, seeing as I did not violate any terms of our verbal agreement or the lease?

Please tell where these laws are written. I have no clue.
