My question involves a security deposit in the State of: WISCONSIN

I am breaking my lease with my landlord. I have a sizeable security deposit down (2 months rent). I was supposed to pay September's rent today but now am not going to assuming he will take it out of the security deposit.

My question is....what if he re-rents the place September 30? Technically, because he used one half of my security deposit for this month's rent....he will still owe me 1/2 of my security deposit. Can he keep that half even though at that point he won't be suffering any damages more than the 1/2 security deposit he would already deduct for me not paying rent this month?
