My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: Nevada
I will try to explain our situation. We are in debt about $79,000 in credit card debt, Truck we owe $20,000 and our house we owe $190,000 appx. Our house has dropped in value from $200,000 plus down to under $99,000 at present time. This part makes us sick. Our credit card payments are appx $$3029 and a $600 truck payment with 3 years to go, and house payment of nearly $1400.00 making the total out lay of appx $5029 needed just for credit cards, Vehicle and House. Our incomes are appx $5500 monthly and sometimes more. We relay on part time jobs at times and this year they cut back and we lost 2 part time jobs that brings in about $3500 to $5000 more for the year.
We are not behind at all presently, have perfect credit, no late, no BK, but we are really stressed and it appears that we are not going to meet our bills this year and we will have to start thinking seriously about doing something. But what? Chapter 7?
The house being worth only $99,000 and dropping like a rock in value every month and we owing nearly twice that is really has us thinking that we should include the house in the BK. Who do we turn to? Attorneys for being able to file BK, or consumer credit for help?
We tried to talk to the creditors to lower the interest rates. Some helped a bit, with lowering the rate to 9.9 % which is not bad, but others won't budge. We really did not want to file Bk but looks like we don't have a choice? But would we qualify? Any advice out there?
