Right after the accident I went to my insurance agent and told him to file a report. He called somewhere and talked for a bit in spanish. Then told me to confirm that it is in fact me, and the lady on the other side asked me my name and confirmed it. Now I find out that my insurance agent never did file it, but her insurance company DID. My insurance agent lied to me, and now he is not answering any calls, and whenever I go to his office his secretaries always say that he is out. Not only that he has been telling me to call his company to do paperwork, and HIS company asked ME why I am calling and not the agent. I am doubting my agent is going to do ANYTHING else.
My insurance agent previously said that if the car is owned by a dealership, my liability insurance should cover it, But after the accident he said that if it is a vehicle that is owned by my dealership but not registered in the insurance, it will not be covered. Is this true?
How should I get out of this situation? I have completely stopped caring about my vehicle, its gone anyway, but under no circumstances will they make me pay several thousand for the vehicle and who knows how much for her health, she might as well blaim everything that is wrong with her on the accident.
First of all, I want to make things clear, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES AM I AT FAULT. I completely pulled out of my parking spot, shifted into drive, and turned the steering wheel to turn out, when she went on the opposite lane into the wrong drive trying to pass me in a no passing zone. She completely underestimated her turn, because she only got half way passed my car when she turned hard right and gashed her own car. She told me that she saw my stop lights right before she attempted to pass me, which is correct, so I have no fault in the accident. Why are they even billing me even if my vehicle isn't insured.
I received a call about a week after the accident and they told me they will not bill me, and I thought that they found it was her fault and decided for us to pay for our own damages. How does having a vehicle not covered by your insurance make you at fault a month after?
My vehicles damage is easily repaired within a couple hundred dollars without a problem, so I am unable to call the police to conduct an investigation because I was told that they will not do anything unless I have several thousand dollars in damage, which I don't.
What can I do?
