Is Underage Sex Illegal in the State of Illinois

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Illinois

I am a 19 year old male.
My girlfriend is 17 years old.
This sex is 100% consensual, and she approves of it 100%.
She is worried about what her parents can/will do if they find out. If they can do anything at all.
We have been dating for about 7 1/2 months, so i was actually 18 when i started dating her.
What can be done about this to punish either of us, if there is even anything, and will i have to worry?
I live in the state of Illinois.
Can her parents press charges? or is it her choice completely?

no her birthday is december 15th and mine is august 1st

what can be done to me, if her parents got mad to the point where they wanted to prosecute me?

we are already planning on getting married...i care for her sooo far beyond sex...i told her if we had to wait till marriage i would(and i really would) but the thing is we already did it. So could i get in trouble if it was brought into court?

Would it help if she just denied everything If worst came to worst?

but, there is still the situation that she is under 18. What that means is she is under her parents control and if they tell her to not see you, that is what it is. They can even get a restraining order against you if you refuse to stay away from their daughter. Breaking that could land you in court and maybe jail.

you are young. If you haven't looked out your door long enough to realize it, we are in a very bad economic downturn. One of the worst I have seen.

put things on slow.

get an education

get a career going

and this goes for the both of you. There will be plenty of time to be together and do whatever you want but if you spend too much time on each other and not on school, that is time you can never make up. It is much harder to have a decent life without a good education and if you don't do it now, it becomes harder each year you wait.

getting married will not solve any problems. It WILL cause a lot of problems. You do not lose anything by waiting.

well about the whole "getting ahead of ourselves"....

I am an apprentice plumber, and am going to get my plumbing license within the next 5 years...i also do HeatingVentilationandA/C, and i make pretty good money doing that.

My girlfriend is on her way to be a nurse right now.. She is on her final year of highschool, and will soonafter take on college classes to become a nurse...


I really don't think it would go as far as her parents setting a restraining order on me, but from what i have seen in life...I shouldn't put it past them.

I also would like to know, when she is 18...can she literally just UP and leave their residence, and move in with me?? she really wants to do this but is scared because she doesn't know her rights....i told her she can, but she still has doubts...she thinks they will FORCE her to live there...

Even if she is still attending high school, can she just leave their house??



so i have nothing to worry about "court-wise" when it comes to having had sex with her? even if i promise to not do it until she is 18?
