Default Is it a Violation of Probation to Be With Somebody Wanted on a Warrant

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas

Hello i am on probation for possession of marijuana >2oz in texas. Today i went with my friend and another friend to go to his brothers house. When we got there his brother wasnt home and he walked inside and accidently set the alarm off which in turn the company sent the police. The police arreseted him when they figured out he had a warrant for his arrest which i didnt know. They were also very suspicious about there being marijuana in the house which there may or may not have been. They asked me and my other friend some questions and then let us go. Now im already on probation so did i violate the terms by being with him if i didnt know he had a warrant. And when i sign in for my next meeting should i write down i had any involvement with law enforcement? and if you cant answer that question then... is it likely she already knows ive had involvement with the law? thanks

I would suggest you come clean about the involvement. Let the prob officer determine if it was wrong or not but if you fail to report the interaction when it is required, you then just did violate.

as to violating by being with your friend; because he had a warrant; not in itself. If he has convictions and you are not allowed to associate with convicted persons, then, yes, you did violate.

a bigger problem would be is if the house is a known drug house. That would be tough to explain.

yes he does have prior convictions. i know lieing is bad but if i played dumb and acted as if i didnt know this may help? i really do not want to hurt my chances of getting of early so each choice has a downfall if i say yes i was with a convicted criminal +plus had a police encounter.. if i say no she can catch me in a lie.
im stressed.. but its my life and i made the decision, now i got to make the right choice..

But in reality how would she ever know that you knew he was a convicted criminal? I'm not saying to lie purse, just bend the truth in your favor a bit.
