My question involves criminal law for the state of: New York/Washington
I am a sophomore in college at this time and getting ready to graduate from a 2 year school at the end of this year. I was put on felony probation for breaking into an ex-pot dealer's house with 2 friends and taking some random things including weed and money.
This happened 2 and 1/2 years ago and since I have been sentenced to 5 years of felony probation as well as 16 weekend in jail which I served without a hitch. I have one minor violation due to making a mistake with the date my restitution was due, but was only given a notice of appearance and once I complied which was quickly I was continued on probation. Since then I have been a model probation candidate and I am starting to build a fairly good relationship with my PO.
My issue is that I want to go to school in Washington state and to do so I think I need to get my probation transferred. I was wondering if anybody knew the chances are for if they will grant my request or if Washington would be willing to accept me, and if the fact that it is for school will make a difference. I was also curious if there was a way for me to present my case to Washington State rather than simply having my PO request a transfer, and if letters of recommendations and things such as this would help me with presenting my case at all.
