My question involves criminal law for the state of: New York
So about three days ago me and my friend went into Lord and Taylor. We went down into the women's jewelry section because my friend said he wanted to buy some jewelry for his girlfriend. I went off to look at watches and then came back and stood next to my friend. He then asked me to look if anyone was behind us, so I panicked and looked not wanting to get caught. We both hurried away as my friend slipped a ton of jewelry into his pockets. Right as we exited the store we were arrested and taken to loss prevention. My friend stole around 500 dollars worth of jewelry and I stole nothing. I was charged with 155.25 petit larceny, but I was noted as an accomplice. I was wondering what are the chances of me getting an ACD because I really need to. I have hired a lawyer and all, but I just was wondering if the chances of an ACD for this case were good. Also I know the court I'm going into gets a lot of shoplifting cases. Also I am 17, and have a clean record. Thanks.
