My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: California
Hello all,
I have just moved out of a house my wife and I have been renting for 2 yrs. As of this past year; Jan. Of 2009, our landlord informs us he can no longer pay the mortgage. He has given us our deposit back by taking out x amount from our rent till we got it back. We have now just got our deposit back in full and have now just moved out. Our landlord still wants us to do a full cleaning of the house and a final walk through inspection. He still wants to rent the property out on a month to month basis until a notice of default comes. My question is, what should my responsibilities be on moving out of his property be on a house that he hasn't paid a mortgage on since January. Should I still go through all the moving out protocol on the property so he rent out the home until his notice of default comes. What should my resposibilities be for his actions of dishonesty?
