    Default Commission to Partners

Dear All, I live in Vietnam and have a question on the commission fee payable to a partner of a law firm. Under US law, do you know if there is any issue (legal or ethic) if a partner of a law firm asks the firm to pay a commission fee of % over the value of the contract he brings to the firm?
    Many thanks.

You can ask for whatever you want, but absent a new agreement the prior compensation agreement or contract governs the parties' respective rights and obligations.
