    Default Pest Guest in Florida

I guess my question involves an eviction in the state of Florida:

I am having difficulty find the specific remedy in FLorida law. I really appreciate that you volunteer your time to help.

I agreed to help a friend. I had an empty house I co-own with a relative. I told the friend they could stay for 6 months if they paid utilities. They offered to give me additional money each month. I told them I was not renting to them but I accepted the money.
I asked them to move after about a year now. They refuse to move. Now they claim I have to evict them because I had an oral rental agreement with them.
There is no lease. I was just trying to help a friend and they gave me money. I have quit taking their money and told them two months ago that they have to move. They said I refused their rent payment.

This person also exhibits signs of personality disorder and has disturbed the neighbors with what could be called breach of peace. The neighbors complain to me and won't call the police.

They person also refuses to lift a finger to clean the home. I didn't ask much. I take responsibility to maintain the outside of the house in which the "friend won't even sweep a porch but the friend refuses me entry. I can only imagine how dirty and destroyed the house is.

I did not consider my arrangement a landlord tenant arrangement but the friend now considers it as such. I don't want to go through eviction but I don't know what choice I have.

What do I specifically do and what reasons can I cite under Florida law for removal? What term notice do I give?

This guest has become a pest.

Unfortunately, they ceased being a guest once they moved possessions in, handed you money, and started receiving mail at the residence. You are, in fact, their landlord, and you are not permitted to simply boot them out.

You must initiate formal eviction proceedings.
