    Default Parents Own Property

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Ohio

My father bought a house for me and put it in his and my mom's name, as I was in the middle of a divorce. I was purchased as a "rental". For 6 years now, the mortgage payment has been direct deposited into their account, so it has never been late. I also pay $100 towards utilities.

A year ago I moved part-time to California to be near my boyfriend. I told my father I would tell him if I was moving for good when I came to visit this summer.

Upon arrival at my house last month, I find that my father has "donated" a bunch of my stuff, including small appliances, furniture and other items to Goodwill. I asked him about this and he told me that the items were "in his way" during his effort to get my house ready to sell.

I told my dad that not only was I not wanting to sell, but that I would be moving back into the house in the spring! He is upset that I am not clearing out the house of my stuff and I'm afraid that he will clear out everything himself as soon as I leave.

I had asked him for a rental agreement years ago, but he laughed in my face. I could not move out at the time because of financial reasons.

It really upsets me that he can just come in and do as he pleases. He offered to buy it for me, as my credit due to my ex is horrible and because I'm now 100% disabled.

    What are my rights?

so, dad wants to sell his house, right?

    . what is part time?

I told my dad that not only was I not wanting to sell, but that I would be moving back into the house in the spring!
doesn't sound like it to me.

He is upset that I am not clearing out the house of my stuff and I'm afraid that he will clear out everything himself as soon as I leave.
then I would suggest you take your stuff with you. It appears dad has accepted you have moved on and has no reason for this house anymore and is going to sell it.

Not knowing how long the house was vacant, I cannot address the legality of disposing of your property or if you had legally abandoned the house or would still have rights as a tenant.

It really upsets me that he can just come in and do as he pleases.
    it is his house, yes?

He offered to buy it for me,
he apparently changed his mind and since the title is in his name, it is his house.

    What are my rights?
offer to buy the house from your father or move your stuff out.
