My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: California

This is somewhat of a complicated situation.

I work/worked for AT&T Wireless. Some gentleman came into our store one day with some phones and I guess they were upcoming AT&T phones. He started talking about them and me being extremely intrigued asked if I could take photos and share it online. The guy allowed me to do so. Again, he did this during regular store hours when their were customers arounds. Anyways, now I'm facing termination, currently suspended from work because they said I violated a propietery rule. My question is this though, how could I have deemed it to be propietary. We are usually given documents that are confidential and marked but there was nothing marked on the phones saying confidential/private or such. Is there anything I can do?
