    Default Caught Shoplifting a Pencil

My question involves criminal law for the state of: CA

to day i was caught shoplifting a $4 Pencil from the CalPolly book store because i was not a student their and a minor they contacted the university Police. the cop was nice enough to issue me a citation and set me up a Cort date even though it was my first offense( actually when i was 13 i tried steeling a pack of bubble gum from a movie store but was asked to put it back before i left so i guess you could call me a second Offender) he let me go with my Brother and said i would get something in the mail im just wondering if the Cort is really going to press "petty theft" charges on me for a $4 Pencil.

ps save the "well you should have though about that befor you stole it"

and "it dosent matter how much the merchandise is its still steeling"

iv herd it all, im just looking for some info

Yes they will pursue the charges against you. Like you already wrote, it is theft and does not matter that it was only a $4 pencil. The fact that it was only $4, and not $400, is used to determine if you will be charged with a misdemeanor or a felony. Also, it’s court, not cort, and punctuation is your friend.

Sweet well thanks for that nice lecture. Since it is my first offence and I'm a miner what do you think will happen?

And if you don't want to answer it then don't post any thing. You could
go comb your ugly mustash, or go get some donuts at your local donut shop instead. : )

They allow children to be miners? huh.
Okay - here is what you do.
You find the ticket you were issued.
You look for the code number you were charged with violating.
You go to google - you type in the code and you READ the associated punishments.
