My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Georgia
Hi! first and foremost i want to say now that i am not trying to get out of anything. i admit to my mistakes and am trying to get them fixed. about a month ago i was in atlanta around 2am, lost and 45 minutes away from home when i got pulled over for having an expired tag. the officer informs me that he has to impound my car and proceeds to leave me standing on the side of techwood drive, all by myself, at 2:30 am. when i told him my cell phone wasnt getting any service he told me that the bp across the street might let me borrow their phone, but that there was nothing he could do for me. i was TERRIFIED and infuriated. well, now i am trying to figure out how much the ticket is going to cost me, so i get online and try the atlantaga.gov website and then the automated number. both say i owe zero dollars and zero cents. the information he posted about me online is incorrect. my name is Virginia, and he spelled my name Virginio and he put in 6 as the last digit of my drivers license number when its actually zero. both look correct on my yellow citation, so i am very confused. to make matters more frustrating, when i called the court clerks this morning to figure it all out and to find out what i would need to owe on the ticket, they told me they couldnt discuss my ticket with me and that i would have to wait to find out how much i owed when i got to the courthouse on the day of my trial. i am so frustrated and dont know how to handle the situations at hand. here are my questions...
1. should the officer have ever left me standing on the side of one of the most dangerous streets in atlanta at 2:30 am, 45 miles away from home, all by myself?
2. when i show up to court will the incorrect info that is written in my ticket cause for there to be a mistrial?
thanks for your help!
Ginny
