    Default Incomplete Speeding Ticket

My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: Pennsylvania.

I was pulled over for speeding in Philadelphia. When the officer (city police) came to my car, he told me I was going 56mph. The speed limit was 35mph. I believe they were using radar to clock me.

The ticket I received states the charge as "3362-A, Speeding". It does not, however, list the "speed timed", "speed allowed", or "timing equipment". The only other information is the fine, which is $170.

My question is, considering the incomplete information on the ticket, do I have a good case in court? How should I phrase my argument? It seems to me that the ticket is worthless without my actual speed recorded.

Thank you in advance for your reply!

I can't read the ticket from here, but if you're saying that it identifies the charge, your speed, and the speed limit, I'm not sure what else you think you need to be fully informed of the charge against you. Just because there's a blank on a ticket doesn't mean that what goes in the blank is necessary on every ticket, or that it's omission will be fatal to any particular ticket. If you think an omission is relevant, you're free to raise the issue in court.

    Thank you for your reply.

I suppose my question is, if the officer did not record my speed on the ticket, then what substantiation does the ticket have? He was a city cop, so he could not technically use radar. The ticket does not indicate that radar or another other system was used. He did not indicate my speed, only the charge and the fine.

So, can I go to court and argue the ticket based on the fact that "I was certainly going the speed limit, and the officer provided no proof that I was speeding"?

    Thank you!!
