My 1 yr, home lease was expiring in a few months and I called the property manager and asked if I renew will they give me any discount and he said the best they could do is 1/2 off first months rent which is $2300 (1/2 is $1150).... I didn't respond because I wanted a bigger discount. Then his assistant called me or emailed me and said she spoke with the owner of the property and they agreed to discount me 1/2 off the first 2 months.... I still didn't respond. she then emailed me the lease and it stated that my first full months rent would be $2300 and that would start Sept 1, 2009. and the lease would start June 1, 2009.... Call me crazy but that is 3 months at 1/2 off.... On the last page it said special provisions would be half off June and July. I noticed this error and emailed the property mangager and said "Paul is it true that my first full month is September 1, 2009 and he said yes it is as the lease is stated and I said sounds good to me.. I paid my first 3 months at 1/2 off and he called my Friday and said I was "F'ing him and to pay up the difference and I told him to read the lease and the emails. he said I know damn well what I was doing and I was only trying to F' him. I said Paul, read the lease and read the emails. He said the emails didnt mean jack squat and pay up or get evicted. I told him he should talk better to a paying customer and tenant and he said I was a lowly renter and he could by and sell me anytime he wanted and never to F with him because he would burry me in court. This guy is the biggest a-hole ever and I said I was going to have a lawyer look at it and he said you don't even have a lawyer and if so whats his name. I said none of your business and I would have more info Monday. He said he was going to evict me first thing Monday from a house that I am paying $2300, never late and already paid last year 12 months at $2300 on time every Month. He also said why don't you just move out and stop being a pain in the ass. I am seeking legal advice and a second opinion other then his. After the way he has spoken to me, I want out but he has $2300 security deposit and I probably could kiss that good bye if I walked. I believe I am paid up until the end of this month and would gladly move out before Sept, 1 2009...... He crossed the line bigtime and the state is Texas if that means anything re: legal issues.
