I was stopped the other day by an undercover cop and written a ticket for attempting to contribute (liquor) to minors. He said this is a felony in Oklahoma...he told me he was going to ask me some questions and if I lied to him, he would haul me off to jail. I answered everything he asked, he gave me the ticket, and I was on my way. Today I paid the ticket ($540 was what the cop wrote, but they told me $240 at the court). My main concern is how this will effect my record. I asked the lady when I paid the ticket and she said that the court isn't one of public record. It sounded like the only people that would ever see the conviction would be the government. How is this going to affect job applications? My right to vote? etc.?
Thank you for your time.
