    Question Police Power with "Set-Ups"

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Virginia

I was pulled over one night with 3 friends and was written a citation for possession of underaged alcohol. We were told to come and talk about what happend before they turned in the tickets. about 5 days later, we went to the station and were told that if we would give up someone else and set up someone, they would throw away our ticket. I don't want to do this but I can't afford another charge. The ticket was improperly written because there were things crossed off and the court date was written for a week after the incident. Can this officer hold that ticket if the court date he wrote on the ticket has past? Can they "make a deal" like that? If I go to court, what are my chances of this possession of underage charge being thrown out?
