    Default Favoritism and Discrimination

    1. I work as awaitress and few months ago my boss hired someone that both of us new and worked with in past.In order to get this person in,she cut my hours and took a whole day away from me. I asked why and told her it is not fair b/c I was actually doing specific job than nobody wanted to do before, and now my boss told me this person needs money b/c they have 3 kids. I said, well I can't have kids no more but I have a mortage and bills and no husband but boyfriend who I was helping due to his medical condition. And my boss said, but you don't have 3 kids, do you? I tried to talk to her about this again few days later but heard the same thing about the kids. There is another girl who lost shifts because of this person.
    2. I also have a question about how to deal w/ someone illegal being in work place, someone who again gets lots of favoritism b/c she is illegal and single parent. And pays no taxes!!!
    3. And one more question. Another emploee favors two people and basicly gives them more tables and bigger tables. I feel like I am denied to work.My sales are sometimes less than 1/2 of others. When this employee is not there, I have no problem. My boss didn't do much about it either.
I got this job about 2 years ago after I quit other job of 14 years b/c of very similar conditions, including harrasment-even sexual one from my boss and hispainic co-workers.PLus many other thing that should not be at workplace.
I even think about quiting this job but the economy is pretty bad around,I worry I won't be able to pay my bills.

    Default Re: Discrimination

There is no law requiring your boss to maintain your hours according to what you want.

Is he discriminating? Sure. But he's not discriminating illegally.
