Default Can I Choose to Use a Lawyer in a Pro-Per Case

I recently acquired a ppo against my ex. I suppose he wants to argue it. I never went to the cops the night it happened, so it will be my word against his. I'm pregnant with our child, and worried that I won't have enough "proof" to prove my case, although he doesn't have any to disprove it. I did take a picture of the glass he broke and the dent it made in my wall. He also pushed me twice, but that is what I don't have proof of.

I would like to take my lawyer to court with me - can I file for that? The motion says pro per which means no lawyer. Can I choose to have my lawyer with me or not?

Default Re: Can I Choose to Use a Lawyer in a Pro-Per Case

When the caption says "In Pro Per" (sometimes "In Pro Se") it means you have chosen to proceed without a lawyer. As long as you're not in a court that forbids the use of lawyers (e.g., most states' small claims courts) it in no way prevents you from later hiring a lawyer to represent you.
