California, I have client that has a 2004 medical debt, not paid by the patient. This is a non-par facility with a patient responsibility. The patient asked for proof of the bill and we sent her the EOB showing the patient her responsibility. The patient brags of her finances and ability to pay but then, the patient is not trying to pay it based off the California State Statues. The State statues are only that we can't legally pursue the patient, right? i.e (judgment) But as a credit reporting agency, we can still report on the patients credit if it's not over seven years, right?
She also states that this is a threat and a violation of the Song-Beverly and Unruh consumer protection acts.
So the main question is can we least report this on her credit?
