    Default Roommate Problems

My question involves a roommate in the State of: California

I was on a month-to-month lease and gave notice to move out in early 2009. My landlord agreed and removed me off the lease while my other roommates stayed at that apartment. Now the roommates are suing me and asking me to pay rent for the month after I moved out even though I was legally off the lease. Am I responsible for paying this? I never made any agreement to pay.

They are also billing/suing me for labor even though they are not licensed contractors. They said they had to help the contractors fix the damages. Moreover, they are billing me for lost wages because they had to miss work and help the contractors. I thought that only the landlord could bill me for labor.

    Thanks

They're suing you for both rent and damages? Why do they believe you owe rent for the additional month?

Did you cause the damages, or contribute to the damages? What damages are we talking about?
