About a year ago.. no, over a year ago, my ex took me to court to "re-calculate" Child Support.
I hired a lawyer, who... well he was worthless but I didn't figure out that 'til it was too late.
Here's the gig, on my pay stub, it shows my base pay, and then it shows "Healthcare" Now they add the money to my pay, and then take it away immediately. It's just a book keeping thing. I pay like 365 they pay 560.
Also my Retirement is taken pre-tax, but the company ADDS matching 1:1 funds.
The judge decided that "It's on the paystub, it's a wage, you're being taxed for it (I'm not), and you will be calculated accordingly." In effect instead of 1900, it's 2800 in wages against her "1500".
So I pay her 745 a month. Now, the really REALLY hosed thing is that she fought to be the one covering the kids under her insurance. The judge decided that "She's the mother, she is better able to decide" and thus I pay her for that as well. She lost that job 2 months later and now has the kids under "assurant" insurance. While I have BCBS. Uhm, yeah the kids are not well covered anymore.
The final tally is I take home 610 a month.
This is... intolerable. Do I have any grounds for going back or will that just get me screwed again?
Thanks in advance!
