Default Employee Separation and Release, Disparage the Company

    I am in california.

I have a questions regarding separation release I sigh when I was lay-off. It said "I agree not to disparage the company or to do anyting that protrays the company, it product.... in a negative light that might injur the company.

Does this mean that I can't do this for ever??? Or does it only mean I cannot make negative remarks on events or maters related to while I was an employee at the company. For example if they company or its officer did something out of line now (after I am lay off) can I negatively comment on it.

Another example is that my former employer is demanding I into the company in to sign some patent paperwork, and said I was obligated to do so and if I do not have their attonery call me to inform me of the consequences. Would this be a violation of my spearation release if I report them to the formers employer's unbutsemens department.

Whatever the agreement says. If it does not specify a time frame or that comments relate ONLY to your period of employment, then it probably DOES mean forever. Again, have an attorney look at it.

BTW, learn how to spell "ombudsman".

This has nothing to do with the "ombudsman". Get an attorney to review ALL the agreements and advise you.

Agree, have an attorney review any agreements. We can't comment on agreements we have not read.
