Default Nothing Done on a Statutory Rape Charge

Parents do not press charges. The DA does.

Anyone that knows of the rape may report it.

There must be evidence to go to court.
In Texas I don't think anything would happen because we are going through it now. We have proof (a grand-daughter, she will be 2 yrs old). No one reported it. Not the school, not the doctor. We did but nothing was done.

My husband and I filed charges and nothing was done about it. The police chief told my husband that to wait until the baby was born to get proof he was the father. We filed a statement and took the birth certificate and paternity paper that he signed. He was 20 years old and our daughter was 15 at the time. We went to the police as soon as him and his mother came over and told us that she was pregnant. Nothing was done. I've called the police station and the DA's office serveral times and just got the run around. When my daughter was 17 the police chief told my husband that the DA was not going to file charges due to certain circumstances. My husband and I had temporary custody of the baby and the father agreed to it once his mother found out we started going to court and they were fighting for custody. Now he has joint custody with my daughter and visitations. That's not the end. His mother had been provoking and starting problems and filed charges on my husband for terrorists threats. But nothing was done for the statutory rape charges.

There's the key. Exactly WHAT were the "certain circumstances"?
