My question involves criminal law for the state of: Georgia
In the late 1990’s I was living a very wild life of cocaine and alcohol and was not making any good judgments. I built a room addition for a man in Hephzibah Georgia and when it came time to pay me, he said he did not have any money. Yet about a week later he took a trip across country. So in a haze of booze and drugs I broke into his house and began to take back what I had installed in an effort to recoup my losses. This ended in felony theft charges and I spent about 6 months in Richmond County jail.
When I got to court I received probation. But upon release I went right back to my old ways and later accepted a ride from an old friend who wanted to help me clean up, and I ended up in Tulsa Oklahoma. I eventually made my way to Los Angeles where I stopped all alcohol and drug use, and began working as personal security and developing my career as a musician.
Now I have 5 children and 2 grandchildren and I wanting to return to Augusta Georgia where I have a felony probation violation warrant awaiting. I clearly do not have to return, but I want to because of my failing health and wanting to be with all my children and grandchildren for the rest of my life.
My question is, what will happen if I return ? I spoke with my PO and he said I would simply go back to jail and be released to re-start my probation. Does anyone here know for sure what would happen to me ?
