My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: Kansas
Back in 2003 my husband and I filed for Chapter 7 which was fully discharged in March of 2004. It was a very stressful time that took its toll on our marriage and we divorced in 2006. I was able to purchase a house after the divorce as a first time home buyer since I was now a single person. To make a long story short, it has not been an easy road for me and my children when their father is not always around for childsupport. I took a job for less pay to be closer to home for my children and now I can't make my ends meet at all. I know there is assistance I can receive elsewhere as a single mother, but recently I received a letter from my mortgage company that they are going to start the foreclosure process on our home. I am wanting to know if I am able to file for bankruptcy again? I didn't know the time limit for doing such. I also didn't know if it mattered that I was married the first time I filed and now I am single if that changes anything. I appreciate any options anyone is aware of.
