My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: California
I recently received a speeding ticket in central california, driving on 2-lane highway (one lane each direction), on state road highway 183 from Castroville to Salinas. It's a rural road, fairly straight. There was a group of 5-6 cars ahead of me, traveling about 60-65 mph together as a group. as i came up to this group of cars, a highway patrol was on the left side sitting still, shooting radar, at oncoming traffice (my side). He started moving like he was going to get the guy in front of me, but then as i approached, he pulled me over. he said he clocked me at 70, and ticketed me for 65. i have requested a trial by declaration, and have the paperwork to now fill out. do i have any defense using "moving along in the flow of traffic"? the officer could have pulled over any one for speeding, and yet the flow of traffic was 65. any help is appreciated as to what i should say in the TBD. thanks!!
