    Default Changing Son's Last Name

My question involves name change laws in the State of: washington
My wife, son and I live in Texas, but he was born in WA, he is 14 months old and my wife and I want to change his last name to mine. How do i do this and will it cost anything?

Default Re: Changing Son's Last Name

Why is his last name different from yours? Were you not married at the time of birth? If not, when and how did you establish paternity?

Absent a basis for seeking a correction of the Washington birth record, you'll need to go through the Texas name change process (with associated filing fees and any required publication fees) then convey proof of the name change to Washington for correction of the birth certificate.
