My question involves criminal law for the state of: Indiana
My 19 year old daugter received a call from a friend that she hasn't spoken to in over a year. The girl was asking for a ride. After my daughter picked her up she asked my daughter if she wanted to go to walmart. They went. On the way out of the store the girl was asked to stop by security. She continued walking and got in the passengers seat of my daughter's car.
My daughter asked the girl what she took and the girl took 3 tank tops out of her purse. My daughter wouldn't start the car and told the girl to get out. Eventually the cops came and arrested BOTH girls.
My daughter did not have a purse or any bags while leaving the store. She had yoga pants on and a lycra tank top. It was obvious that she did not have any merchandise on her. But she was driving and with the girl.
She just got her CNA and now she won't be able to work anywhere that does a background check. I'm waiting for a call from a criminal attorney but I'm so nervous. Any hope that this will be dropped?
