    Default First Time MIC

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas

I'm 17 and I received a MIC two days ago out of town. The party I attended was busted, but I was not drinking. Strictly the DD. The cops gave everyone a ticket, but mine does not have a court date. Will I get something in the mail telling me when to go? Do my parents have to attend court with me? Should I mention I didn't drink, or will that not help me at all? This goes to show that bad things do happen to good people. Please fill me in with any more information I should know.

    Probably.

I am of the impression that in Texas, at 17, you would be charged as an adult. If that's the case, I don't expect that your parents will have to go to court. I do suggest, however, that you talk to your parents and consider getting legal help resolving the ticket favorably.

    It can't hurt....
