My question involves a child custody case from the State of: California
I am single Father. My Sons are 16 & 17 years old. I have 50% Legal custody and the Mother has full Physical. I have Visitation during the Summers. I live in CA, she lives in TX. CA holds juridiction over the case. In the Court Oder it stated that the children cannot leave the USA.
She has been married to an Airforce man for 14 years. He has been stationed several places over that time. They have been in TX for the past 8 years. I have always been in CA.
Now he is being stationed, upon his request, in the country of Turkey. I was not told by their Mother. I caught wind from my youngest son that their Mother plans to put them on a plane without telling me and wisking away to Turkey with both of my sons.
The problem of going to court with this is that she will lie and say that she has no intention of going to Turkey. Then when she has the chance, escaping with the boys. It seems that the court can not do anything until she has disappeared. By that time it's too late.
What kind of protection do my Sons have against this? They don't want to go, but afraid of the reprocusions of defying their Mother and Step Father. What choices do I have to prevent this from happening? I want to be proactive, not sit back and wait.
Please advise. Thank you.
